Understanding SGPA and YGPA

SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) is the average of grade points obtained in all subjects in a semester. YGPA (Year Grade Point Average) is the average of SGPA across all semesters in a year.

How to Use This Calculator

1. Select the year you want to calculate (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year)
2. Enter subject name, credits, and grade points for each subject in each semester
3. Click "Add Subject" to add more subjects to a semester
4. Click "Remove" to remove a subject from a semester
5. Click "Calculate SGPA" for each semester or "Calculate All" to calculate all at once
6. View YGPA for each year at the bottom

Formula

SGPA:
SGPA = Σ (Grade Points × Credits) / Σ Credits

YGPA:
YGPA = (SGPA Semester 1 + SGPA Semester 2) / 2

Grade Point Scale

Typically, grade points range from 0 to 10 (or 0 to 4 in some systems). Common scales: A+ (10), A (9), B+ (8), B (7), C+ (6), C (5), D (4), F (0).
