How to Calculate Marks Percentage

The marks percentage is calculated using the formula:

Input Modes

• Total Marks: Enter your total marks obtained and the total marks. Your marks cannot exceed total marks. Perfect for calculating overall percentage from total marks.
• Subject Wise: Enter marks obtained and total marks for each subject. Each subject can have different total marks (e.g., one subject out of 200, another out of 100). The calculator converts each subject to percentage first, then calculates the average percentage. You can add or remove subjects as needed.

Example Calculation

Total Marks Mode: If you scored 450 out of 500:

Percentage = (450 / 500) × 100 = 90%

Subject Wise Mode: If you scored:

• Subject 1: 85 out of 100 (85%)
• Subject 2: 90 out of 100 (90%)
• Subject 3: 78 out of 100 (78%)
• Subject 4: 92 out of 100 (92%)
• Subject 5: 88 out of 100 (88%)

Each subject is converted to percentage first, then averaged:

Average Percentage = (85 + 90 + 78 + 92 + 88) / 5 = 86.6%

Note: If subjects have different total marks (e.g., one subject out of 200, another out of 100), each is converted to percentage first, then averaged.
