Calculate chronological age
“Age as of” defaults to today. Change it for admission cut-offs, contracts, or historical dates.
Age difference
Reference date for both ages (defaults match the other tab).
What is chronological age?
Chronological age is the time passed since birth, measured in calendar years, months, and days. It is what schools, forms, and laws usually mean by “age.”
Chronological vs biological age
Biological age reflects health, fitness, and cellular aging, which may differ from calendar age. This tool only computes chronological age.
Why age calculation matters
Accurate DOB-to-age math is used for school admission cut-offs, medical dosing bands, insurance, HR records, and legal capacity — always confirm critical dates with official documents.

FAQ
- How to calculate chronological age?
- Subtract the birth date from the reference date using calendar months and days, or count total days between dates and convert for display.
- How is Feb 29 handled?
- Leap day birthdays are counted in full years/months/days using real calendar lengths. For “next birthday” in a non-leap year, Feb 28 is used as the celebration date.
- Can I use a future “as of” date?
- Yes — you’ll see how old someone will be on that future calendar date.
